New event announced for food safety community

The 2017 Hygienic Design Summit will explore the role of the cold chain in promoting and implementing hygienic design supply chains to protect fresh produce and other foods from dangerous contaminants and allergens.

As regulatory burdens increase across the industry and frozen food logistics providers advance to handle products needing varying degrees of temperature-control, including fresh produce and chilled meats, third-party logistics warehouses now play a role in maintaining a hygienic supply chain.

Hosted by the Global Cold Chain Expo, the International Association for Cold Storage Construction, and United FreshTEC, the Hygienic Design Summit takes place on 14 June in Chicago (US), bringing together food safety experts, facility and equipment designers and produce packers and processors to discuss sanitary design in temperature-controlled food facilities.

The event kicks off with a hygienic design education program led by Commercial Food Sanitation president and founder Joe Stout, followed by a networking reception.

Attendance is free and open to all registered show attendees, however organisers ask that delegates please pre-register for this event.
